Meet Bear — A Gentle Soul Looking for His Forever Home
By Jennifer Patten, Founder of Ugly Dog Adventures
Sometimes a dog comes into your life at just the right moment — and you know you’re meant to help him find where he belongs. That’s Bear.
🐾 Bear’s Story
Bear was found as a stray the day after Christmas and brought to the Downey Animal Control. His owner was contacted but never came back for him. He was put up for adoption — and that’s when we stepped in.
On January 2nd, we pulled Bear from the shelter to give him the best possible fresh start. Not just a roof over his head — but real care. The kind of care we give every single dog that comes through Ugly Dog Adventures and our own personal pack.
For the past five weeks, Bear has been living with us and receiving everything we’d give our own dogs:
- The best medical care
- The best nutrition
- The best socialization
- The best training
- The best of everything
And he has absolutely thrived.
🌟 Bear’s Personality — Guaranteed
I don’t say this lightly: we guarantee Bear’s behavior and personality 100%.
Bear is a perfectly well-mannered dog. He’s great with people. He’s great with dogs. He’s great with cats and other animals. He has done beautifully in our training program, and he walks like a dog who’s been doing this his whole life.
He’s calm. He’s confident. He’s gentle. And he genuinely loves being around other dogs — so if you already have a dog at home, Bear may be the perfect addition to your pack.
🎁 What Comes with Bear’s Adoption
We want Bear to have every advantage going into his new life. That’s why we’re including three free months of unlimited pack walks with Ugly Dog Adventures for his new family.
That’s not just exercise — that’s continued socialization, structure, enrichment, and support during the transition into his forever home. It’s the kind of head start most adopted dogs never get.
❓ Why Do We Do This?
People ask us all the time — why do you rescue dogs? Why put in the time, the money, the energy?
Because we believe every dog deserves the same care — whether they’re a client dog, one of our own, or a shelter dog who just needs someone to believe in him.
At Ugly Dog Adventures, we follow what we call the pillars of ultimate canine care:
- Safety — Making sure they’re protected
- Health — Making sure they’re medically sound
- Nutrition — Making sure they’re eating right
- Sleep — Making sure they’re resting well
- Emotional wellness — Making sure they feel secure
- Socialization — Making sure they can thrive with other dogs and people
- Enrichment — Making sure their minds are engaged
It all comes down to one thing: helping dogs become better canine citizens so they can live in our human world more comfortably. That’s what we did for Bear. And that’s what his next family will continue.
🏡 Bear Is Ready. Are You?
We’re hoping to find Bear a forever home in the Orange County, California area — someone who will love him the way we’ve loved him these past five weeks.
He’s ready. He’s trained. He’s healthy. He’s happy. And he’s waiting for you. His adoption fee is only $375… could be the best dog gone deal in history.
